Smoothie King Center, New Orleans, November 19 – This game is a great representation of what the NBA has become, a fast-paced game with a lot of threes and quick actions. Both teams scored together an incredible 266 points. New Orleans averaged 35 points per quarter this game.

Spurs started the game great by scoring 39 points and allowing the Pelicans to score 30, and ending the 1st quarter with a 9-point lead. Pelicans turned things around immediately as they managed to bombard the Spurs from every spot on the field and ending the quarter with a one-point lead, having scored 38 to the Spurs’ 28.

They continued with the same tempo in the 3rd quarter where they scored an amazing 40 points to the Spurs 30, and their offensive performance was far from done as they scored another 32 points while conceding 29. The final score of the game was 126-140 for the Pels.

Anthony Davis had a game-high of 29 points while also adding 9 rebounds and 4 assists, but the best performance came from Julius Randle who had an incredible triple-double of 21 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists while shooting 69.2% from the field and he did all of this in just 25 minutes of game time. For the Spurs, DeMar DeRozan had 21 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists.

Both Spurs and Pelicans will be playing on Wednesday. Pelicans will be visiting the on-form Clippers in Los Angeles while Spurs play at home against the Grizzlies.
